Summary : This is a full time position reporting to the SR Tech. Duties entail instrument repair, instrument calibrations, product setup, quality control checks, service and customer support. Support will include, maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring, and installation support of material testing instruments and machines. The successful candidate will be a young, highly detailed oriented individual, in good physical shape, with ability to lift and move equipment as needed. Tech program graduate a plus. Related experience essential.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Repair work:
Instrument repair on small, handheld, pcb based instrumentation, and repair of benchtop testing machines, both mechanical and digital systems. Mechanical and electrical aptitude necessary. Highly disciplined, detail oriented and meticulous work ethic mandatory. Full Working knowledge of hand tools, basic connection soldering experience expected. Maintain and document repair logs. Assist with parts procurement.
QC check/Product setup:
Each machine gets checked for quality issues and set up properly before shipping to customers. Will follow Quality Control procedures, calibrate and test using NIST standards. Maintain and generate documentation.
Tech Support/Customer Support:
This will include customer contact by phone and/or video conference for the purposes of troubleshooting , providing tech support and installation support. Will diagnose and isolate equipment and system malfunctions, leading to solutions.
Requirements :
  • Solid Mechanical aptitude a must
  • 2-5 years related work experience
  • Knowledge of connection soldering
  • Knowledge of the operation and uses of basic electronic test equipment
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Good computer skills, Microsoft office….
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills – working well with others
  • Quality of work – highly disciplined and detail oriented work demands the same type of worker
  • Pass background check
Physical Requirements :
  • Sit or Stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift/carry equipment if needed
  • Perform maintenance related activities
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
