CAD Designer AstroTurf Corporation
How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
Reporting to the Design Department Manager, the CAD Designer position is responsible for the creation of detailed 2D plans for sports fields in both bidding and post-bid stages. This includes multiple iterations of conceptual art for logos, field renderings and upon approval, final shop drawings.
How youwill do it:
- Create renderings based on customer request and sport standards.
- Request required plans and field dimensions from Sales representative, Project Administrator, and Project Manager.
- Request required graphics from Sales representative, Project Administrator, and Project Manager
- Provide estimated material usage and waste.
- Create shop drawings based on approved renderings, field dimensions, or architectural/engineering plans.
- Create graphic vector files based on approved renderings or customer provided graphics to be used in shop drawings.
- Revise shop drawings based on customer’s comments.
- Create roll orders based on customer approved shop drawings.
- Learn additional software to improve upon or make more efficient current duties.

What success looks like:
- Years of Related Professional Experience: 2+ years of experience in related field.
- Excellent communication skills - proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, presentation skills, build and nurture cross functional relationships.
- Think critically - questions, challenges, looks for other ways to accomplish goals.
- The ideal candidate would also have a deep love for sports and a passion for competition.
- Equal ability to fit into a team or to work alone while exuding a positive attitude.
Skills for Success
- 2 Years of Related Professional Experience
- Degree preferred; HS Diploma/GED required.
- Courses/Certifications/Training: Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software, Photoshop or similar image manipulation software, Adobe Illustrator, or similar vector art software
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
