**This is a Part Time position, offering 20 - 25 hours per week. There is flexibility with the schedule; however, it will be required that the hours are worked during standard business hours, 7:30a.m. - 5:00p.m.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior CAD Designer, the CAD Designer II is responsible for providing support and service to the engineering department by generating mechanical designs and drawings for engine, airframe installation and/or test engineering, of parts together with assemblies under the direction of engineers and senior level CAD designers. The Designer is also responsible for the organization and maintenance of engineering drawings through established drawing control procedures. In addition, the Designer may provide support to the Technical Publications Department coverting CAD models into technical documents and provide support in the creation of work instructions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Design and edit parts and assemblies from 3D CAD models developed by engineers and Senior CAD designer.
- Apply correct datum structures utilizing GD&T and inspection criteria to produce part definitions that meet engineering specifications yet are real-world “manufacturable”.
- Create drawings including layout and detailing of parts and assemblies using 2D and 3D CAD company tools.
- Maintain engineering documentation utilizing established engineering change management and drawing control procedures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including bill of materials, maintenance specs, etc. per applicable procedures.
- Participates in project team meetings, as applicable.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Senior CAD Designer or Engineers.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling program.
- Min 3-5 years 3D CAD experience.
- An understanding of GD&T Principals, preferably with engine parts.
- Some exposure to machining and fabrication.
Preferred:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in CAD Design or Engineering Technology.
- Aviation interests.
- Engine experience
