CAD Designer (Solidworks)
Job Description
General Description:
A design engineer is responsible for creating, developing, and improving mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. This role works closely with other engineers, designers, production, and manufacturing staff to analyze, design, and draw current or old designs/assemblies to meet customer needs and specifications.
Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Evaluates mechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research and developing 3D CAD drawings.
- Develops mechanical and models by studying customer requirements including evaluating and interpreting prints and drawings.
- Develops manufacturing processes by the design of the part and the appropriate machining operations.
- Maintains product and company Quality System by implementing and complying with AS9100, ISO-9000, and all related government regulations.
- Completes assigned projects and tasks, according to department or manufacturing personnel.
- Involved with professional and technical training and development.
- Handling confidential information in dealing with government contracts
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills:
- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD and Solid Modeling
- Ability to analyze and address technical information.
- Ability to interpret 2D drawings and convert to 3D models.
- Has experience and knowledge of CNC CAM Works machining operations.
- Must be able to reproduce/create 3D parts and assemblies from archived drawings into SolidWorks.
- Ability to ensure that drawings will be completed in a timely manner to meet the current production schedule.

- Knowledgeable and experienced GD&T
- Familiarity with ISO/AS9100 a plus

Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of work and/or five (5) co-op experience in an engineering/manufacturing setting with a focus of design, and production.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Maintain excellent attention to detail.
- Possess organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
- A willingness to work in a growing business with a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Experience with the entire Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
