The incumbent will act as the HR information system (HRIS, i.e., PeopleSoft) "expert" to end users in each of the HR functional areas. Serves as the co-HR webmaster, which will include developing and publishing information to the HR website and ensuring that the HR website remains current. Assists HR end users in accomplishing their goals and strengthening their effectiveness by using the HRIS system to its fullest potential. Is the organizational point person with respect to the maintenance and ongoing monitoring of required professional certifications, registrations and licenses. Leads initiatives resulting from requests for internal/external interfaces to third-party software packages that rely on current employee demographics maintained in PeopleSoft. Responds to requests for miscellaneous HR demographics that are maintained in any of the systems used in HR, primarily PeopleSoft.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in business, Human Resources or Business Systems applications, or a related field, and a minimum of three years of experience as an HR generalist or HRIS experience.
- Candidates who do not possess a degree, yet who can demonstrate strong competencies typically obtained by previously performing the job results noted in this job description or by previoulsy performing in an HR analyst or HR generalist role, may be considered.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, writing PeopleSoft queries and the PeopleSoft HR application.
- Required competencies include strong functional and operational knowledge of each of the HR functional areas (benefits, compensation, employee relations, employment, occupational health, payroll and training and development), the ability to bridge the communication/needs gap between end users and technical IT support staff, strong communication and analytical skills and knowledge of PeopleSoft HR data architecture.
- Must be able to convert data into useful information that is easily interpreted by those who request HR data.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member in a solution-oriented, customer-focused environment.
