General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.

Job Function:

- Analyzes business processes and workflows with the objective of finding out how they can be improved or automated.
- Facilitate process workshops, after which they document any information elicited using process maps and business requirements documents.
- Supports PMO Project Managers, primarily through the Initiate and Feasibility phases of a project, by facilitating process workshops that involve analyzing business processes and eliciting business and functional requirements.
- Develops process maps in Visio and builds very detailed requirements documentation in Excel.
- Assists in the development and delivery of training materials related to Project Framework Methodology.
- Supervises other Business Systems Analysts in the PMO.
- During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Marginal Functions:

Serve on committees, task forces, and work groups that pertain to teaching in support of on-line learning, as assigned by the Director of Project Management Office.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and one year of experience directly related to the job functions; (b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and three years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 7 years of direct experience.

Strong human relations skills. Organizational and documentation skills. Proficiency in Windows/Macintosh operating system and related applications. Familiarity with applications in support of on-line learning, including web course development and distance learning.
