This position will be focused on researching new systems to ensure they can be implemented and/or maintained to meet City business needs and analyzing current business processes to provide increased efficiencies for the organization.
Work assignments will include driving City departments to determine their technology needs, identifying system modifications, and challenging them on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute IT related initiatives.
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of IT, provide Business Systems support to the different departments across the City:
- Evaluate and analyze City's information systems needs and requirements
- Prepare specifications & instructional documents, flow charts, and process diagrams for users to follow
- Oversee the implementation of required hardware and software systems
- Work with vendor representatives to identify and correct causes of hardware and software malfunctions and to perform enhancements
- Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives with different departments
- Provides support to helpdesk ticketing system
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science preferred; experience in related fields can be used in lieu of educational requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the IT industry
- Analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret user business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Strong Microsoft Office, Power BI, & 365 administration skills, a plus
