The Business Services Operations Associate Director is responsible for the oversight of the three key central service teams supporting the tax and assurance practices: Technical Document Processing (TDP), Tax Assembly Processing (TAP) and Business Service administrative support teams. Each team supports the firm through central workflow queues for its corresponding group. This role provides cultural leadership and collaborates closely with firm and regional Tax and Assurance leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
This position supports the Operations Director - Firmwide in developing and empowering great teams through strong leadership.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of strategy for the firm's Business Service teams, and proactively manage the outcomes related to performance, operational improvements, and recurring issues
- Manage, coach, and develop a diverse and virtual team of subject matter experts who provide specialized support to numerous clients
- Partner with key stakeholders (e.g., PPG, National Tax) to support strategic initiatives and ongoing operations for tax and assurance, and ensure goals and objectives align with National office, firm, and business operational priorities
- Responsible for identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and improve operational performance, balancing the need for a customer-centric approach to innovating and developing our core support functions with the need to rapidly execute on business priorities
- Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) on platform efficiencies and workflow improvements
- Develop innovative ways for differentiating the firm and redefining best practices while accounting for and delivering on client needs
- Maintain accountability among the Operations team leaders as it relates to deployment and standardization initiatives while ensuring proper quality controls are maintained
- Leverage change management methodology and tools to drive adoption, promote higher utilization of and increase proficiency of firm changes that impact regions and teams
- Lead resource demand planning and budget planning for administrative support, TDP and TAP teams, and participate in firmwide project planning decisions
- Manage or participate in special projects by developing and executing against plans, budgets, and timelines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Business Operations, Finance or related field preferred
- Minimum of 13 years of Business Administration or related experience in a complex organization required; including demonstrated leadership in building, developing and retaining high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture; experience in public accounting or professional services environment preferred
- Ability to remain focused on long-term vision, flexible on implementation details, and thoughtful in driving short term, incremental results
- Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals
- Strong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels within the firm
- Knowledge of business automation, offshoring and third-party vendor management
- Proven commitment to providing exceptional client service
- Organizational and project management skills with ability to direct, manage, and review the work of others
- Adaptable to a changing environment; champions change and influences others to change
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10%
