Full-time Front Desk Clerk (Check In/Out) needed in a busy and rapidly growing Cardiology practice of 26 providers. Our Team provides extraordinary customer service to our patients in a medical office setting. The qualified candidate must be a high school graduate with a minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare setting and /or has a strong background in customer service. Strong computer skills are required. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR – specifically EPIC), insurance, and medical terminology is preferred. Attention to detail is essential. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and perform under pressure is a must.
This position serves as the point of contact for patients at Pioneer Valley Cardiology Associates. The ideal candidate will maintain a professional environment and demeanor in the performance of role. This position is on site with no availability for remote work. The position is Monday through Friday with hours from 8am-5pm (non-negotiable) with an hour lunch daily.
Daily tasks of a Front Desk Clerk (Check In/Out) include but are not limited to:
- Assumes primary role for greeting, checking in and checking out patients
- Potentially interacting with up to 80 patients a day
- Collecting co-pays when required
- Closing of cash drawer daily
- Verification of appointments via telephone calls
- Registration of patients
- Managing provider questions via inbox messaging in EHR
- Verification of demographic and billing information for all patients
- Obtaining copies of current insurance information
- In coordination with Front Desk Lead, provides full day coverage of all Check In/Out areas
- Fields and answers questions/concerns from patients at the Front Desk
- Informs patients of changes or delays in the schedule, while working with patient and staff to determine appropriate course of action (reschedule, waiting, etc.).
- Assumes primary responsibility for accurately sorting, distributing, and processing PVCA mail and incoming faxes
- Verifying New Patient information when received and delegating that information to the correct department for scanning
- At the discretion of the Front Desk Lead and/or Site Manager, performs other duties as requested.
