Description
Provide leadership to the development and management of the project portfolio, consisting of continuous improvements and transformational programs for the Caterpillar machine sales and operations (S&OP) process. Manage the resource allocation process that ensures that projects and resources are aligned to support the objectives of the Machine Business Divisions (MBDs) and other process partners like GCI and Caterpillar dealers and have the highest possible process improvements & business result impact.
Job Duties
Co-ordinates the development and deployment of processes solutions to achieve the business objectives for the S&OP process. Activities include providing leadership to the development of process workflows, RACI, digital solutions, and process policies, if any.
The primary duties include leading a diverse portfolio of projects aimed at continuous process improvements and transformational initiatives for the machine S&OP process. The role will have direct responsibility for 5-8 project/process leaders and will need to manage project prioritization, coordinate the implementation of, and to maintain the process and the systems used to support ~300 users of the S&OP process. Manage resource allocation to the projects to drive the desired business results. The role will serve as a coach to the team members assisting them in developing & deploying Business Process solutions. Development of formal training material and processes for the S&OP user community is also a critical element of this position.
The position champions Business Process ownership and developing/sharing best practices amongst the different teams, identifying, assessing, and managing Enterprise risks to the machine S&OP process.
The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and managing the work assignments of the team. Typical process partners include the employees in Strategic Planning and Procurement (SPPD), MBDs, GCI, Caterpillar facilities and Dealers. The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and review many possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and will require strong collaboration amongst a diverse group of team members and stakeholders to develop & implement solutions. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results.
Basic Qualifications
4-year degree in supply chain, engineering, or a similar field.
6-8 years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required.
The position requires thorough knowledge of company products, Sales & Operations Planning Process, portfolio management and supply chain planning.
Top Candidates will also have
Knowledge of 6 Sigma and Lean are desirable.
Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.

The location for this position is Peoria, IL.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
Travel requirement is anticipated to be 15-25% at times during process/solution deployments and will be limited at normal times (5% to 10%).
