North America is an important part of that future, and we're thrilled to introduce our business, and our unique approach to contract mining, to Salt Lake City and the surrounding Intermountain West region.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking to fill the Business Manager, EST position. This role is a leader in our Asset Management function to build strategies, business plan and execute the strategy to support the implementation and execution of a dual-fuel technology offering to mining and heavy equipment end users, consistent with Thiess' diversification objectives, and to ensure efficient delivery to new mining customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define team strategies and actions to ensure business objectives are achieved
- Deal effectively with issues, conflict and problems and escalates matters for resolution as required
- Actively support and champion change initiatives across the business
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide clear performance expectations to personnel and reinforces correct behaviors
- Promote, encourage and foster Thiess' safety culture within the team"
- Lead, monitor and review HSE compliance and performance improvement initiatives and interventions as required.
- Perform regular inspections, audits and behavioral observations to identify hazards and risks when visiting sites
- Share knowledge with others and contribute to team discussions and meetings
- Ensure Thiess/MES meet all legislative requirements and standards relevant to dual-fuel decarbonization technologies
- Ensure the dual-fuel technology implemented within Thiess/MES is functionally safe
- Support site teams with incident investigations relevant to dual-fuel technology.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years experience in relevant business development leadership role
- Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess is required
- Desirable:
- Fluency in the English & Spanish languages
- Basic computer literacy
- Saleforce CRM experience
EDUCATION
- Engineering University degree preferred
- Equivalent tertiary qualifications considered
- MBA or Business Management degree preferred
- Experience can be considered in lieu of formal certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Based out of the North American Business Unit in the greater Salt Lake City Utah area (Cottonwood Heights)
- Monday - Friday Hybrid Schedule, Salt Lake City and home
- Travel up to 50% time, varies by project and client
- Full time Thiess FTE
