Job Summary
Westat's Business Development Information Services team contributes to the long-term growth of the company by developing and disseminating information about Westat's market, competitive position, and potential business opportunities. The BDIS Specialist will take an active role in identifying potential business opportunities and tracking them throughout the Business Development life cycle. This position provides the opportunity to work directly with senior members of Westat's team of research and statistical experts to win new projects that will improve outcomes in the areas of health, education, social policy, and transportation.
This is a full-time position to work onsite at our Rockville, Maryland office at least 2 days/week and 3 days from your home office.
Job Responsibilities
- Daily review of Business Development resources to identify and disseminate new business opportunities.
- Monitor and update information related to Westat's active Business Development pipeline.
- Respond to Business Development-related research requests from Westat client-facing staff.
- Assist in projects related to strategic planning, market and competitor research as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with internet research techniques and resources.
- Experience with MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
- Familiarity with the U.S. Federal government procurement life cycle and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting Business Development research in the Federal, State and Local government marketplace.
- Experience with information resources including SAM.gov, Grants.gov, GSA E-Buy, and third-party research services focused on the Federal, State and Local government marketplace.
- Understanding of Westat service offerings and functional capabilities.
- Customer-centric focus.
