Major Job Function
Make a difference in the North Mankato community by serving as a Reserve Police Officer! No prior experience in law enforcement is required to become a Reserve Officer. Uniforms and training are provided. North Mankato Police Reserve Officers provide support to our full-time officers and community in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, providing security for community events, assisting with traffic control for special events, communicating with a diverse population, and more. Reserve Officers are non-sworn and do not carry firearms. Reserve Officers are required to attend specialized training and become CPR/First-Aid certified. Reserve Officers who meet their training requirements and provide the community with 50 service hours in a calendar year receive a stipend of $750, with the potential to earn a higher stipend if more hours are provided. Must be 18 years of age to apply.
