Excellent opportunity to join NJ Transit as a Bus Information Clerk in the Ticket Information Center.
INFORMATION CLERK
Location: GOB, Maplewood, NJ
Summary:
The NJ Transit Information Center (TIC) is an inbound call center. Information Clerks are responsible for giving the public prompt, courteous and comprehensive travel and itinerary planning assistance for Bus, Rail, Light Rail, and Access Link service. We provide this service from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week with two Call Centers, one located in Maplewood, and one in Camden.
Roles and Responsibilities:

• Employees are responsible to provide a high level of customer service and answer calls promptly and courteously.
• Provide comprehensive travel and itinerary planning assistance to the public.
• Employees are to be at their assigned position at the start of their shift and be prepared to accept calls.
• Required to meet a minimum of 6 hours and 40 minutes staff-time.
• Employees must be available or logged-in for their entire shift.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or a high school equivalency diploma
• Customer service experience required
• Call Center experience preferred
• Must be able to work 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Data entry/typing experience required.
