Maintains plant building and campus wide mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment. Estimates material and labor costs for repairs, replacements, and improvements of all mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Coordinates and communicates with partner contractors and vendors. Oversees and inspects the daily operation for assigned buildings' mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations as required by code and regulatory enforcement agencies. Utilizes building design and construction techniques, knowledge and blueprints up to, and including: HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, for building preventive maintenance and repair as needed. Complies with current environmental issues and concerns as notified. Advises on the optimum performance of all building systems to include mechanical, electrical/electronic, fire life safety, smoke control, and HVAC and water circulation system. Responsible for maintenance and testing of all fire alarm equipment, back-up generators and coordinating with other departments for business continuity plans at the corporate campus, La Cantera and Hwy 90 buildings. Monitors and logs vendor performance for on-site activities. Conducts regular, formal building inspections documenting any building problems or deficiencies that may affect building operations or create liability and follows through with corrective measures as needed. What We Require:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of four (4) years in Building Engineer, maintenance, and/or facilities experience with a strong background in building systems maintenance. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license, a good driving record, and insurability. The ability to lift 100 lbs. with assistance from either lifting equipment or with the assistance of additional personnel, bend, stoop, and reach above head. Meet deadlines with high quality standards. Work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and provide seven day a week twenty-four hour a day on call support Able to prioritize and complete projects with optimum efficiency and productivity. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or experience. Universal CFC certification. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Advanced knowledge of MEP systems, design, and construction. Advanced knowledge of building automation systems. Knowledge of building design, construction procedures, zoning, building codes, and building materials. Able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally & 50 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Visually determine the accuracy & thoroughness of work assigned (custodial, general labor) or to make general observations of facilities/structures.
