Job Overview
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for consideration of an open Budget & Reporting Analyst position in our Program Management division. This position will be located at our Rochester, NY office (hybrid working model).
The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services.
The Budget & Reporting Analyst is responsible for ensuring effective financial management and reporting of portfolio, program, and project costs. Responsibilities of the Budget & Reporting Analyst include budget monitoring, forecasting, financial analysis, and producing accurate and timely reports to support informed decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers and across multiple functional departments to develop project budgets, create monthly forecasts and yearly budgets.
- Monitor project costs, track budget variances, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain budget tools to forecast project expenses.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports to communicate project status and variances to stakeholders.
- Create financial dashboards and presentations to support Program and Project Managers with strategic decision making.
- Conduct financial analysis to assess the health of projects, identify trends and recommendations for corrective action.
- Develop and maintain standardized reporting templates for consistency across projects.
- Assist in the preparation of long-term financial plans and forecasts.
- Identify financial risks and potential issues in projects and propose mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project financial records.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial management practices within the PMO.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging tools for budgeting and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Proven experience as a financial analyst, budget analyst, or related role.
- Candidates with a CAPM, or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire preferred.
- 3-4 years of project cost accounting with basic knowledge of project planning and cost control processes
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Adaptable and resourceful in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
Salary Range: $83,000 - $114,000
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
