Job Description:
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Budget and Finance Specialist II.
This position in the cost center manager for the Parking division and will provide financial management and budget support for the Parking division and the Senior Budget and Finance Specialist, as assigned. Primary responsibilities include monthly/annual financial analysis, preparation of monthly/annual financial reports and statements, budget research, preparation, submittal and monitoring; reconciliation of revenues and expenses and credit card transactions; and processing of bills and cash transactions for Parking Operations and Ames Intermodal Facility. This position will also assist with report preparation, track payroll deductions for parking permits, and serve as a liaison for external DPS vendors.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable within the areas of budgeting and accounting procedures. It is also important that the candidate possess exceptional analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and knowledge and efficiency with various computer software programs, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
This position will work 40 hours per week.
