Brand Director - Hybrid New York


Marquee Brands is seeking a self-starter, strategic thinker who is a highly analytical, creative thinker with both right-brain and left-brain orientation. The Brand Director will also have a strong taste level. This individual will have a demonstrated track record for developing brand strategies, promoting brand growth and expansion, implementing brand plans, and using a variety of data to achieve brand business objectives in the short and long term.

Responsibilities
:

  • Develop strong licensing partnerships: Expertly lead the relationships with key licensing partners, ensuring excellence in collaboration across all touch points across the business. Be the main liaison between the licensing partners, internal Marquee, and external partners.
  • Collaborates with Licensees for assortment development, designs, development calendars, and product approvals. Ensure all associate deliverables are completed on time.
  • Drive Strategies to Realize Profitable Growth: In partnership with Licensees, develop highly detailed revenue-driving and brand-elevating category plans. Have a high level of accountability in driving business results and achieving financial plans.
  • Develop and execute brand marketing and PR strategies in partnership with Marquee and along with licensing partners.
  • Define and manage the brand communication strategy, owning the development and messaging of the brand narrative.
  • Identify insights and opportunities through research and data; be exceptionally curious. Be the expert on the customer, the market, and the competition for assigned categories.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions regarding price, resources, and fashion as they relate to trends and key items and react accordingly to impact sales.
  • Partner with Legal teams to understand key deal terms and ensure that material deal terms are adhered to, updated, and accurately filed.
  • Establish and maintain brand budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a brand across multiple markets
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Strategic thinker able to identify long-term opportunities and trends
  • Self-starter who likes to work hard, can prioritize, multi-task and focus under pressure
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Project management experience, with a solid understanding of project management principles and techniques
  • Success in building cross-group, cross-functional relationships
  • Eager and Willing to add to their knowledge base and Skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent education
  • 6+ years of buying, merchandising, brand management, or comparable experience in a multi-channel or online retail environment
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with prior experience working with senior management
  • Experience with some or all of the following software solutions:
    • Product Information/Catalog Management System for SKUs, Products, Categories, and Navigation – Shopify (preferred)
    • PIM – Salsify or similar platform
    • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Comfortable working within data-rich software platforms
  • Strong product knowledge in the maternity apparel space
  • Prior experience with licensing & wholesale partnerships
  • Ability to travel if needed

Salary Range - $115,000-$130,000
