- Job Title: Buyer/Planner
- Location: Lake Mary, FL
- Salary: $16.00-$20.00 per hour DOE
- Schedule: MF 7-4:30pm - 1st shift - may be asked to work OT on some Saturdays
- Type: Temp to Hire
Summary: We are seeking a qualified Buyer/Planner that has had experience working in the Metal Fabrication Industry to perform all duties necessary for the purchasing and planning functions described below. This position will require 40 – 45 hours per week in the Lake Mary, FL plant. Purchasing will consist of direct materials (raw material, components, outsourcing items) that are loaded in the ERP Bill of Materials (BOM). This position will follow up on purchase order, past due items, estimating pricing, delivery, and vendor capability. This is a tactical position that will require excellent communication with the division manager and corporate office in order to ensure compliance with overall company strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
This is an office job, but employee may occasionally be required to stoop, lift and climb. Frequent visits to the shop floor will be expected.
Purchasing duties:
- Review and issue after approval of purchase orders for metal fabrication goods or services.
- Follow up on purchase orders in the system.
- Review Open report for past due items.
- Assist with the outsourcing of different services.
- Contact vendor in regard to nonconforming materials and potential returns and credit.
- Estimating pricing, delivery and vendor capability information, as required.
- Review ERP system, assist in the RFQ Process.
- Verify receipt, identify and resolve problems.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Planner duties:
- Review of input production data and system.
- Compile schedule and issue dispatch list for production orders.
- Monitor work in program.
- Requisitions and maintains inventory - runs the MRP planning module.
- Run and review MRP.
- Review MOD's and Quick turn requirements.
- Assist in contract review - follow up purchasing on material.
- Work with purchasing to review ERP system generated planned purchase orders for material.
- Assist Shop Data maintenance person with issues arising out of floor reporting.
- Employees are responsible for complete customer satisfaction through the quality of their own work.
- Wears required safety equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years purchasing experience in Metal Fabricating Industry.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Abilities to re-evaluate current vendors criteria for effectiveness established for the Purchasing process.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP, Intuitive.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 – 10 years purchasing and/or planning
- Computer Skills: ERP, MS Office
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Special Requirements: APICS and/or CPIM training/certification preferred but not required.
