Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews MRP outputs weekly to ensure all required actions are taken - planned orders, expedites, de-expedites, cancels, etc.
  • Maintains and reviews inventory levels based upon forecast, safety stock, and/or strategic product importance.  Identifies those products that are excess or slow moving and management of portfolio through product life-cycles.
  • Responsible for remote Purchasing/Planning at off-site locations.
  • Limits backorders of all assigned parts while communicating backorder information to internal departments.
  • Maintains and reviews Forecast vs. Actual sales for assigned products and work closely with product management to adjust forecast based on market intel
  • Coordinates weekly conference calls with key suppliers and resolve short term performance issues.
  • Distributes Engineering Change Requests to each supplier and reviews disposition of existing and in-process products.
  • Discusses defective goods with inspection or quality control personnel, suppliers and others to determine the root cause and take corrective action.
  • Work with a cross-functional product development team to coordinate new strategic product launch activities as assigned by management.
  • Able to evaluate suppliers based upon price quality, service support, reliability and selection.
  • Ensures item costing is fair and reasonable. Works with each supplier to reduce costs while still maintaining quality and deliveries.
  • Travels to offsite Suppliers & Arthrex Locations to coordinate project meetings/reviews - Travel up to 15% of the time Domestically and Internationally as needed.
  • Coordinates on-site supplier visits with internal departments.
  • Identifies new suppliers and initiates internal paperwork for approval. May also disqualify suppliers.
  • Ability to present project updates to senior leadership on a monthly basis.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required. 6 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Direct MRP experience required. SAP experience preferred
  • Purchasing/Manufacturing/Forecasting/Sourcing strongly preferred
  • History of working with domestic and international suppliers strongly preferred
  • Medical Device experience strongly preferred
  • BI/BW or similar software experience preferred
  • History of leading complex new product launches
  • Industry Certification preferred

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and Vendor Management required. Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Office/Windows.  Excel Macros/Pivot tables/VLookups strongly preferred.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and conduct formal presentations to senior management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
