Bookkeeper Office Assistant

Lake James Custom Homes (LJCH) builds luxury custom and spec homes in the Lake James region of western North Carolina.  We work with our clients through each phase of the building process, using our experience and relationship with reliable and local subs. Lake James Custom Homes (LJCH) is seeking a Bookkeeper Officer Assistant. An ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, must have proficient computer skills, and be highly organized with attention to detail. We would be happy to teach and train a dependable and enthusiastic candidate with a background in bookkeeping in areas where they have no experience.

Essential Duties | Bookkeeper Officer Assistant

Bookkeeping:

• Oversee daily entering of bills and manage accounts payable
• Assist with producing client invoices
• Reconcile accounts at month end
• Providing accurate reporting to assist management in making strategic decisions
• Track subcontractors’ insurance and assist with annual aud

Office Assistant:

• Support all administrative duties in the office
• Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary
• Greet visitors, and answer and direct phone calls
•  Assist with developing office procedures, and ensure they are implemented
• Provide other administrative support as necessary, including scheduling group meetings, maintaining calendars, and creating reports

Requirements:

• Detail-oriented, organized, consistent, dependable, and honest in the dealings
• Analytical / data-driven mindset; good with numbers and spreadsheets
• Focus on timelines, deliverables, and client satisfaction
• Enthusiastic about learning new skills and software systems
• Optimistic and upbeat
• Strong communicator internally and externally
• Comfortable working sometimes solo, interacting with other team members happening virtually via email or chat.

Ideal Candidate Might Also Have:

• Experience with QuickBooks
• Bookkeeping / finance / accounting background a plus
• Experience in construction desirable but not required
