Booking Manager (Military Move)
HomeSafe Alliance is the single global household goods movement manager for USTRANSCOM and the U.S. Armed Forces, Department of Defense civilians, U.S. Coast Guard, and their families.
HomeSafe Alliance is seeking highly skilled and motivated Shipment Distribution Manager responsible for overseeing logistics management, inventory management and warehouse management for the organization.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Manage, lead, and coach a team of bookers.
Oversee the successful distribution of HomeSafe's shipment assignment process including origin, hauling and destination services.
Negotiate with service providers, when necessary, to secure the best quality service for customers
Establish, monitor, revise, document, and communicate all directives, rules, and procedures to staff, including rate schedule, shipment, booking process, and any other related information.
Develops reports and procedures for shipment monitoring and control; coordinates with IT personnel to develop inventory data collection reports.
Monitor timely responses to external/internal customers and other HomeSafe Alliance offices.
Daily/hourly monitor all system efficiencies and adjust when needed.
Responsible to coordinate and resolve logistical issues, identification of improvement areas, coaching specialists and fostering strong teamwork between the field and the HomeSafe organization.
Evaluate staff performance on a regular basis to include the employee appraisal process. Monitor workloads, adjust proactively and develop team members.
Troubleshooting issues and maintaining appropriate staffing levels
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics preferred.
5+ years transportation, logistics, fleet, or distribution experience, within Military Move highly preferred .
3 years management experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, patience, and empathy.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of domestic freight markets and operations.
Experience in team management, customer service, and transportation logistics
Prior Military Move management experience highly preferred.
