Job Overview:
Has the knowledge about all equipment and processes in their area to ensure the daily production requirements at MBV are met. Specialized and skilled positions in the area of equipment installations and/or repair. Responsible for the output in amount and quality in that area. Makes improvements and collaborate with engineering to maintain processes and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform setup operations for more complex and/or special cases (establish tooling and process for non-standard manufacturing cases)
Support plant and machinery upgrades for non-standard cases, test parts, new parts and prototypes without plans in some cases
If necessary, assist with upgrade plans for non-standard processes. Assist in release of process for standardization
Perform cycle time analysis and support optimization as needed
Identify, analyze, suggest countermeasures, assign and partner with connected areas of expertise to correct issues
Perform routine failure analysis on manufacturing processes and non-conformances
Perform routine failure analysis on the product.
Support and partner with Specialists on non-routine failures
May assist in the procurement and construction of new machinery and equipment, provide valuable/relevant input in decision making
Perform welds, weld testing, and analyze weld parameters to solve weld issues
Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints of the process
Monitor and set up machinery for optimal performance
Daily control of machines used in production and be able to identify problems and solve these problems
Interact with maintenance and planning on a regular basis
Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program
Works under broad supervision
Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Required: 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate 3 years relevant experience; OR Relevant associates degree 1 year relevant experience
Preferred: 5 years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant assoc. degree 2 years relevant experience

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brand Mercedes-Benz. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. Therefore, MBV celebrates a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
