Boateka (Brunswick) - Janitor (Part Time)

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Janitor. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of our Merritt Island facility. Your primary duties will include performing a range of tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces and restrooms, as well as emptying trash and recycle cans.

The main objective is to maintain a clean, safe environment for our employees and an immaculate showroom for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a proven understanding of proper cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and the appropriate use of supplies and equipment. He or she will also have the physical endurance to cover a significant area, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage time efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vacuums, sweeps, and mops floors.
• Collects and disposes of garbage daily.
• Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Cleans and washes windows, walls, windowsills.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Maintains outer premises by watering plants, removing trash/ debris, and cleaning entrances.
• Moves and arranges furniture, as needed.
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors; operates power-cleaning equipment, mechanical cleaners, and polishers.
• Performs minor repairs.
• Notifies management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Secures facilities and ensures doors are locked after hours.
• Follows health and safety regulations.
• Utilizes insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests.
• Performs other related duties or special projects as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation methods, supplies, and the appropriate use of supplies and equipment.
• Handle basic maintenance, cleaning, and other janitorial work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Integrity and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage your time efficiently.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to exert continuous physical effort including frequent bending, walking, and lifting of at least 35 pounds.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.
