This is a position that has opportunities all over the county to support various individuals, you could have multiple work locations.
Help others reach their full potential by supporting adults with an Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) and/or Autism. Direct Support Professionals teach independent skills and provide assistance with socialization, finances, life skills, and more to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and an improved quality of life. The ideal candidate should have professional technology skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for working scheduled hours and making up any hours missed
- Responsible for addressing goals/objectives daily
- Responsible for the daily health and safety of the individual
- Responsible for all duties related to direct care and Activities of Daily Life
- Responsible for communicating incidents to the proper parties
- Responsible for transportation of individuals to and from activities as needed or help individuals achieve independence through public transportation
- Responsible for documenting and reporting progress to the support team and Employment Specialist
- Responsible for supporting individuals to achieve independence
Qualifications
Direct Support Professionals must
- have compassion, Integrity and Sense of Community to support individuals achieving success!
- have use of a computer/laptop/tablet to attend five days of paid training for orientation.
- have basic computer knowledge to complete virtual meetings, web-based training, documentation and timekeeping.
- have a reliable vehicle to get to the homes of individuals, and transport individuals daily. Reimbursed $.40/mile.
- have a personal phone for documentation and timekeeping with data and Wi-Fi capabilities.
- have low absenteeism and punctuality to support our individuals with consistent support to build rapport
- know a Pennsylvania Criminal History will be completed by Focus, as well as a ten year driving history, and these can be repeated at any time during employment. FBI background checks and Childline checks will need to be completed by the employee.
