Summary:
The Billing Systems Engineer Intern is responsible for automation, scripting, and development in the different billing system(s) or ancillary supporting applications that support Breezeline's customer-focused operations and billing. In addition, this role focuses on key, strategic projects impacting Breezeline's customer care and billing, specifically around major projects, launches, conversions, etc. Ideal candidates for this role have been involved in projects or have academic experience in system integration projects, API development, and automation using scripting languages like PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc. In addition, work experience or academic experience in SQL is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
• Show respect to each and every teammate, BZL employee, and BZL customer.
• Ask questions and keep learning.
• Create scripts or programs to perform mass changes in the Billing Systems or other supporting
applications.
• Create automation to achieve the most efficient and effective system maintenance.
• Create test automation for our Quality Assurance (testing and validation) Team.
• Assist the department in ensuring data integrity and standardization (where possible) on all system
data such as customer, product, and transaction tables.
• Create complex queries in the billing and support systems that help support key Mobile Billing
initiatives.
• Contribute to strategy discussions and decisions on the overall design and the best approach for
implementing solutions.
• Communicate effectively to Leadership on key, strategic projects.
• Protect the organization by keeping information confidential and safe.
• Ability to train others in technical tasks and drive the Mobile Billing Team to the most efficient
solutions.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in computer science/information technology or equivalent
software development work experience
• Software development experience preferred
• Complex DB querying/scripting, with DB design or administration experience preferred
• Experience with system integration projects
• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and spoken
• Detail-oriented, analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams like Finance, Marketing, Product, Care, etc
• Great organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to design, document, develop, and unit test software development changes
