Under general supervision, the Hospital Assistant will support the ETT/ECG patch lead technician. The critical/ major role of the Hospital Assistant will be to independently provide ECG patch placement and education services and process post-placement ECG patch test results into the Epic system. The position will require careful review of alert notifications from I-rhythm.
The hospital assistant will also assist treadmill testing. S/he will prepare the patient for testing, verify the patient's information/ eReferral, and the candidate's general ability to perform the test (ambulatory), prepare the patient's skin, and attach electrodes. After the technician has completed the treadmill testing, the Hosp Assistant will detach the electrodes and clean the patient's skin, as well as cleaning the room and sanitizing the electrode cables.
Under general supervision, the Hospital Assistant will provide data entry and processing into ProVation, transport patients to and from the emergency departments, coordinate expedited studies, provide ECG patch placement, registration and patient education, and process ECG patch test results into the Epic system.
Note: This position does require a physical/health screening.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
