This position is responsible for providing advanced Billing and AR software support to our clients through the courteous, efficient, accurate processing of client issues and requests in a timely and professional manner. The Sr Tier II Billing Specialist will assist our clients with Billing issues, financial reporting, 1/1 troubleshooting and escalation support for more complex billing and remittance review.
This position is remote, and the candidate can sit anywhere in the United States.
What you will do:
- Use expert questioning and listening skills to identify, research and resolve customer billing issues and requests
- Investigate, reproduce, and define billing and remittance issues based upon ticket information, customer input, State escalations, and relevant documentation
- Understand the billing process from the client side as well our product functionality to troubleshoot issues and determine the best path to resolution
- Document all customer inquiries through our CRM system and record subsequent communications
- Stay up to date on changes to billing processes and requirements and work internally to update resources and functionality
- Maintain knowledge of Sandata's clean claim process and clearinghouse protocols
- Display flexibility towards work schedule
- Assist in creating and presenting training materials for internal and external customers
- Provide feedback to representatives regarding ticket management and workflow processes specifically as it relates to the Billing processes
- Manage workload, workflow, and productivity to maximize efficiency
- Be able to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Support team projects as they may occur to enhance the quality or efficiency of support
What you will bring:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong knowledge related to 835's and 837's
- Medicaid / Medicare billing experience required
- Billing and/or Accounts Receivable experience
- Prior software support background with call center/customer service experience
- Ability to learn and understand complex billing workflows related to the healthcare industry
- Ability to move quickly from project to project with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous health care experience a plus.
- Ability to understand complex data, file formats, billing formats, software, and processes
Communication Skills:
- Above average written, verbal and listening communication skills.
- Ability to trend data, create and deliver training.
- Proven ability to "divide and conquer" complex problems and then document and communicate their solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Superior customer service skills.
Computer Skills:
- Skillful with Word, Excel, Adobe, Power Point and TFS and other web-based tools.
- Strong systems navigation skills.
- Computer hardware setup, connectivity troubleshooting and desktop support.
Education/Experience
- College degree preferred (Healthcare Administration /Public Health)
- 5+ years Medicaid / Medicare billing experience preferred
- 5+ years electronic billing experience
- Medical coding / billing subject matter expert
- 5+ years customer service experience
- Computer hardware setup and connectivity troubleshooting a plus
- 5+ years of IT/Healthcare related experience.
