Job Description
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resource department.
We are looking for someone who is highly organized, collaborative, productive, and successful at juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Most importantly, someone who is excited about Human Resources and offering support to the team.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish trust within the office and properties.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date Human Resource files, records, and documentation.
• Answers frequently asked general questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of Human Resource files and records.
• Provides administrative support to the HR department.
• Assisting with the processing of daily mail, answering the telephone, and taking messages for various team members of the office.
• Assisting with the processing of EDD claims (sending the claims to the correct property)
• Assist the HR team with creating claims files (online and hard files) and adding them to the correct Excel spreadsheets.
• Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the Claims spreadsheets, ensuring they are current and up to date.
• Conducts or assists with the onboarding of new hires.
• Assist with completing verification of employment and processing of wage statements.
• Assist with gathering the required information to respond to subpoenas and special projects.
• Assisting with the company’s various employee programs.
• Assisting with Charity and community efforts for the company.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
• 1-3 years of experience in a Human Resources support role
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
