Job Summary:
Human Resources Assistant assists with the day-to-day operations and administrative tasks of the Human Resources functions and duties. The HR analyst carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resources Information Systems, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, safety record keeping, and recruitment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the HR Coordinator to develop, recommend, and implement employee policies and procedures, prepare and maintain a handbook on policies and procedures
- Administer Benefits: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401(K)
- Responsible for various compliance measures, including I-9 forms maintenance, participating in the e-Verify program, OSHA, COBRA, etc
- Post current employment laws, and maintain current governmental forms
- Maintain HR Information Systems: including time off, info changes
- Run personnel reports when needed
- Assist in special projects: handbook, training, update internal HR processes & forms
- Conduct annual reporting: audit, vacation leave balances
- Put together a hiring packet and organize the new employee orientation
- Assist with exit interviews
- Post any open positions, review resumes and set up interviews, and update information on all recruiting websites
- Participate in the interviewing and staff selection process
- Participate in disciplinary actions/termination of employees
- Maintain employee files and the HR filing system
- Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office
- Complete and submit all the accident reports in a timely manner
- Attend annual Career Fairs and recruiting events
- Maintain employee information in the payroll system review all online timesheets, and process weekly payroll
- Work on various fun programs and events to enhance employee motivation
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Position Specifications and Requirements
- High School diploma or GED Required
- 2 years HR administrative experience
- You are engage and love interacting with people
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office products)
- have excellent written, communication, and organizational skills
- Multi-Tasking and Time Management Skills; can adapt to a changing fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds or less 5% of the workday
