Benefits Specialist
Wilson Elser's National Human Resources department currently seeks a Benefits Specialist.
This is an excellent opportunity for a benefits professional to join an impactful and growing HR team. This position will support the administration of employee benefits programs and assist with various tasks related to benefits enrollment, communication, and compliance. This position works closely with the Senior Manager of Benefits Administration, Director of HR Operations, Payroll, and the firm’s Benefit Committee to ensure employees receive timely and accurate information regarding their benefits packages and to assist with the firm with benefit reporting requirements.
The Position
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or benefits administration
- 3+ years of benefits administration experience
- Experience with benefits administration in UKG preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information
Responsibilities
- Support the enrollment process for new hires, including distributing enrollment materials, and assisting with self-service enrollment in our HRIS, UKG
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and changes, such as life events or plan adjustments
- Aid in the preparation and distribution of benefits communications, including open enrollment materials, benefit summaries, and educational resources
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit options, coverage details, and eligibility criteria
- Maintain accurate employee records UKG, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
- Handle data integrity and enrollments audits as well as billing reconciliations
- Generate, analyze, and audit reports on benefits enrollment, utilization, and costs -
- Support compliance efforts by ensuring benefits-related documents and processes adhere to federal and state regulations, such as HIPAA, COBRA, and ERISA
- Liaise with benefits vendors, including insurance providers and retirement plan administrators, to resolve issues, track claims, and facilitate employee communications

The annualized salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
