This role will be responsible for partnering with key client partners and vendors to translate the benefit strategy into simple and comprehensive benefits to the workforce.
The Benefits Analyst is responsible for day to day benefit management and communicating employee benefits for the North American organization partnering with benefit brokers to ensure benefits offered meets needs of business and our employees. This position provides special guidance and assistance to employees on all benefits plans and in partnership with the benefit brokers/TPA makes plan recommendations to maintain the organization’s competitive position in employee benefits.

- Administers all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, ancillary insurances and wellness initiatives.
- Responsible for working with employees for qualifying events and working with carriers.
- Creates and analyzes the benefit survey data and trends to determine best benefit offering that prevent and treat chronic and environmental health conditions.
- In partnership with TPA – provides input on benefits program updates, additions, and deletions to management by studying employee requirements, participating in area surveys, reviewing trends, future costs/benefits, and competitive analysis of benefits offered by other organizations.
- Serves as a chair or co-chair role on the wellness committee ensuring that the wellness initiatives support the overall benefit strategy.
- Tracks benefit usage and satisfaction to improve appropriate utilization of benefits offerings.
- Manages the annual Open Enrollment process by partnering with benefits TPA which includes working with communications team for campaigns and communicating during town halls.
- Collaborates with Director of Total Rewards to solicit requests for proposals (RFP’s) during benefits renewal period.
- Reconciles monthly benefit invoicing for all carriers.
- Conducts bi-weekly benefit orientation session with new employees.
- Participates and reviews area surveys in order to offer a rich employee benefits package.
- Develops simple employee friendly communications including plan documents, annual enrollment announcements, wellness initiatives, and lunch and learns to educate employees on benefits.
- Backup on LOA requests in absence of HR Specialist.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with insurance companies.
- Explains and researches benefit policies for employees.
- Remains compliant in all applicable regulations and updates policies to reflect these guidelines.
- Promotes positive employee relations.
- Runs reports as needed from the HRIS and benefits systems.
- Partners with HR Specialist on any benefits needs for employee’s on LOA
Qualifications:
Required
- Three - Five years of benefits knowledge/experience and managing benefit programs
- Experience in managing competing project plans with tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to organize & prioritize work and communicate priorities effectively to internal & external stakeholders or track record of effectively managing multiple projects with overlapping tasks with time sensitive deadlines.
- Performs tasks with appropriate level of attention to detail and ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, quality and accuracy in work performance.
- Proficient in use of Excel/data analysis tools to estimate costs, manage employee data, track issues etc.
- Experience using HRIS solutions to enable benefits enrollment, forecasting etc.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills' ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with all levels or organization and with partners.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
- Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, and make effective presentations.
- Knowledge of ACA and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP or CEBS) preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources.
- Experience in managing fully funded and self-funded health care plans with ability to help organization assess benefits/trade-offs of both approaches.
- PHR/SPHR preferred.
