Benefits Assistance Specialist - Part Time Hybrid; Nonprofit

LEAP is looking for a part-time (20-25 hours/week) Information Assistance Specialist who will provide information and referrals, primarily via phone, to individuals with disabilities, their family members, and members of the community. The Information Assistance Specialist will conduct outreach activities to un-served and underserved populations, connecting people with disabilities to available resources, and will maintain all relevant recordkeeping and documentation. This position offers a hybrid, flexible schedule!

Necessary qualifications include:

• Two years’ experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, social work, education or related field.
• Experience working with a variety of people with disabilities and familiarity with advocacy, vocational and community support programs.
• Thorough and current knowledge of all SSA Benefits, Appeals Process and Work Incentives, State and community programs/benefits and their interactions with and impact upon other benefits
