Prestigious NYC-based Law Firm is seeking a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their team!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administration and review of Firms semi-monthly employee payroll including processing employee and benefit changes, reconciliation reports, and off-cycle checks as needed; ensure accuracy and compliance with all taxes, withholdings, contributions, and deductions.
- Administration of Firms partner and employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, Aflac, short and long-term disability, 401(k) and profit-sharing plan, Health Savings Account, transit, pension plan, long-term care, and workers compensation.
- Coordination of quarterly payroll tax filing audit with third party administrator.
- Annual review of forms W-2 and 1095-C.
- Coordination of annual 401(k) audit.
- Play an active role in benefit plan design; make recommendations for structure changes when appropriate while keeping the Firms best interests at the forefront of all outcomes.
- Lead the planning and implementation of the annual open enrollment process.
- Demonstrate high level of care and customer service in correspondence with partners and employees; understand and communicate plan designs, conduct benefit onboarding and offboarding meetings, and serve as main point of contact for pay and benefit inquiries.
- Responsible for leave management including processing claims with carriers, preparing detailed leave memorandums for partners and employees, and maintaining active disability files to ensure compliance with FMLA rules, firm policies, and city, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain vendor and broker relationships.
- Reconcile and remit monthly premium bills for payment.
- Monitor administration of COBRA through Paycom.
- Prepare and maintain firm-wide budget for all benefit plans.
- Update and maintain confidential employee personnel and benefits files.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of direct payroll and employee benefits administration experience in a professional environment.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Extensive experience with HRIS system benefit administration; extensive experience with a payroll processing system; Paycom experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations involving payroll and benefits administration (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA).
