- A Benefits Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of essential functions which may include, but are not limited to: researches, analyzes, evaluates, and administers benefit plans and programs; functions as a liaison between vendors and employees; advises employees on eligibility, coverage and other benefits matters; compiles and maintains benefits records and documents; monitors benefit trends in the business environment and must stay abreast of applicable benefits legislation; and performing other duties/projects as assigned. A Benefits Specialist also acts as a liaison between payroll, department leaders, employees and our third-party vendor regarding leave management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachlelor's Degree: Human Resources or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge and experience with various computer programs/software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), HRIS (Ultimate Software Group preferred), and the Internet are desired.
- The physical, technical, and cognitive ability to operate the following office equipment: photocopier, computer, fax, digital camera and calculator.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Acts as a liaison for the Froedtert South insurance plans assisting employees and leadership staff with questions regarding eligibility, benefit coverage and other items as they arise.
- Researches, analyzes, evaluates, and administers benefit plans and programs.
- Monitors benefits trends in the business environment and applicable benefits legislation.
- Responsible for the administration of the eligibility paperwork for the insurance plans offered to the employees of Froedtert South.
- Compiles and maintains benefits records and documents.
- Partners with insurance plan vendors and third party administrators (TPAs) to assist with eligibility issues and/or claims issues as they arise.
- Analyzes benefit expenses monthly.
- Assists the Benefits and Compensation Director with special projects related to the benefits programs.
- Acts as a liaison between payroll, department leaders, employees and our third-party vendor regarding leave management.
