What you get to accomplish:
- Ensure programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with federal and state laws, and are cost-effective.
- Evaluate existing benefits programs, determine competitiveness, research trends and developments, and recommend plans and programs that align with the company’s strategies including cost impact.
- Act as liaison for employees and external vendors such as insurance carriers.
- Lead continuous process improvement in benefits administration.
- Provide daily support to employees, respond to benefit inquiries, and assist in benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefit enrollments.
- Process life status changes and update carriers.
- Ensure legal compliance and timely reporting of 5500’s, audits, FMLA, ADA, Summary Plan Descriptions and all other applicable documents.
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure correct deductions, contributions, and payments.
- Provide accurate records for 401K annual audit.
- Develop strategies to improve enrollment rates and overall employee experience.
- Complete annual open enrollment including finalization of the benefit plan design and employee premiums, updating our HRIS, developing communication plans/material, and assisting employees and leadership
- Complete reconciliations to ensure accuracy of benefit plan deductions and complete benefit self-billing.
- Ensure proper setup of our benefit programs in our HRIS including file feeds between benefit carriers (ADP WFN)
- Create, facilitate, and lead benefit presentations
- Develop standard operating procedures and workflows for benefit-related tasks.
- Train employees on items related to benefits as needed
What you should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of benefits experience preferably in a mid to large sized company
- Meticulous attention to details
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft suite, specifically Excel
