JOB TITLE: Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Responsible to: Clinic Manager
Responsible for: Does not supervise other employees
Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all clinic and hospital departments.
JOB SUMMARY:
To perform designated routine tasks related to the operation of the Business Office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Duties:
- Performs office duties including: opening up the department
- Answering multiple phone lines on a regular basis
- Complete patient registrations in a timely manner
- Answer simple billing questions, or request billing department assistance for patients.
- Assists with department documentation, including daily organization and filing.
- Assures compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Cooperates with other clinic and hospital personnel to maintain good employee relations and meet all department objectives.
- Communicates clearly and accurately with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with clinic and hospital standards.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-services, meetings, etc.
- Attends and represents the department at appropriate meetings, as requested by Clinic Manager.
- Performs tasks to maintain the department in orderly condition.
- Maintains CONFIDENTIALITY of all information.
- Assures that the patient/resident’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasionally exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases.
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
- Occasionally exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Six months experience in health care desired.
Education: High school graduate
