Job Summary
The Basketball Referee (Instructor/Official) is a critical role on any court; responsible for enforcing rules while also cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-court coach, and advocating for the programs. This role has a direct impact on players, coaches, and spectators each and every game day.
We are currently hiring for our Winter 2024 Season at the following venues:

• Tukwila Community Center Saturdays (5 weeks 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24) 9:00am-2:00pm
• Cascade Middle School Sundays (6 weeks 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/25, 3/3, 3/10) 9:00am-2:00pm

Responsibilities

• Study and enforce i9 Sports rules and safety for all players. Stripes and whistle provided by employee.
• Instruct players during practice using age-appropriate practice plans developed by i9 Sports.
• Keep time and score during the game; manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
• Ability to lift 30lbs over head on a ladder. We attach portable backboards to primary backboards to adjust hoop height.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (Email, text, verbal, written). Responsiveness is critical.
• Sports officiating, playing, or coaching experience is a must.
• Enthusiasm, strong work ethic and trustworthiness.
• Situational awareness, attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as a team.
• Commit to working weekends for the full duration of the season, 5-6 weeks.
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
• Must have reliable transportation and be dependable. We do not tolerate callouts.

Salary range is $18.00 - $27.00, DOE
Compensation: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
