The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Barista atCafeJ, within The Morris Inn. The UEE division leads the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Barista will assist in preparing beverages, food and beverage displays, and welcoming, and serving guests in accordance with UEE hospitality standards, and also Brand standards. Maintaining the venues appearance and food and beverage productions are efficient and easy for guests to experience. Preparing beverages with efficiency and accuracy according to recipes, and brand standards. Performing all tasks relating to retail food and beverage service including safety and sanitation of facilities, prep areas, guest areas. Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service to everyone, including all the elements of hospitality, such as anticipation, recognition, and responsiveness to the needs of others. Working productively together with others as a team. Behaving at all times with optimism, intelligence, curiosity, work integrity, empathy, and self awareness, all while preforming the tasks of greeting, descibing, and explaining food and beverage offerings. Operating the cash register (point of sale), with accuracy and efficiency, recording guest orders and tendering sales. Participates in the preparation, stocking, and rotating of food, beverage, and paper product inventories.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 to 6 months of related work experience required
- Competent in food industry skills and use of equipment such as ovens; espresso/steamers, blenders, and knives
- Understanding of HACCP and food safety practices, and knowledge of Coffee and Tea Brands
- Ability to read and follow recipes, and must be friendly and personable with a variety of personality types
- Must have a passion for serving others and also coffee/tea beverages
Preferred Qualifications:
Must obtain, and retain: Indiana Alcohol Beverage Permit/License & Serve Safe Certification
