SUMMARY:
The Banquet Captain partners with the Director of Events and Operations Management in planning, organizing and executing event operations. You will manage the work of employees supporting banquets while ensuring the highest quality guest experience and coordinate with the Culinary & Stewarding teams to ensure each event’s success. Areas of responsibility also include food knowledge, service standards, sanitation practices, and leadership.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Events & Customer Experience - Support Event leadership team in planning and logistics for each event and respond to guests’ requests, questions and feedback during events.
- Staff - Responsible for necessary training, supervising, working and supporting events.
- Culinary & Steward - Assist in executing all food and beverage service and control banquet china, glass, silver, linen and equipment. Participate in reviewing banquet event orders to guarantee the execution of all events.
- Safety – Ensure all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to and that the facilities remain neat and clean.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years’ experience in high volume event venues
- Strong ability to multi-task and observe entire dining room
- Exceptional time management skills
- Strong knowledge of food & beverage
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal and team player skills
- Ability to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays
- Written Communication - Writes clearly and able to read and interpret written information
- Verbal Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of word, PowerPoint, and excel. Ability to print menus and signs for events.
