RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Azure Data Engineer in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
* Azure Data Engineer will produce high-quality, secure, and maintainable code/configurations
* Learn and understand business processes with limited guidance
* Work collaboratively as a member of the development team to build best-in-class software solutions in an agile environment
* Support and research issues across all application layers and database
* Identify areas to improve and scale our Azure architecture and application design
* Ensure code can be deployed using Azure DevOps
* Design and query database tables, views, functions, stored procedures and batch processes
* Develop, implement, and support interfaces that connect our websites, back-end systems, and various third-party cloud solutions, vendors and customers
* Engage with business partners to gather information, analyze requirements and deliver practical, efficient and cost-effective solutions that satisfy business needs
* Write product specifications and design documentation for assigned system components
* Design, develop and/or review complex code or configurations to ensure solutions meet the requirements of functional and technical specifications; Automated Unit tests and/or automated UI tests
* As an Azure Data Engineer, you will lead team members and provide oversight for less experienced engineers
* Enhance knowledge of and compliance with preferred technologies, methodologies, standards and policies
* Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology trends, market availability of products, risks and benefits of technology to meet business/IT needs
* Participate in IT architecture review and standards setting
* Assist in the development of white papers, conducting presentations as needed to explain why a technology is being recommended by IT
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or related discipline) and 5-8 years of relevant experience (programming technologies) or minimum 9-12 years of relevant combination of education and work experience
* Minimum 5 years of RDBMS experience
* At least 3-5 years of consulting or client service delivery experience on Azure
* 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java 8, c#, node.js, python, SQL, Unix shell/Perl scripting
* 3+ years of Microsoft Azure experience
* 3+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines in Azure Data Factory
* Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations
* Experience with designing integration applications, both upstream and downstream applications
* Experience with git, Azure DevOps, build pipelines, code branching/merging, code management
* Experience with JSON, JSON-LD, XML data structures
* Experience with SDLC products (Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub) or similar agile project management tools
* Experience handling Structured and unstructured datasets
* Experience in Data Modeling and Advanced SQL techniques
* Experience writing and executing stored procedures
* Knowledge of ETL tools like MS SSIS
* Knowledge of Event driven architecture
* Strong t-SQL skills with experience in Azure SQL DW
* Cloud migration methodologies and processes
* Excellent problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud-native Azure technologies like Azure Functions, Event Grids, Service Bus Queues, Cosmos DB, or related is a plus Logic Apps
* Experience in USQL, Hive SQL, Spark SQL, Data Bricks
* Background and knowledge of .NET REST API
* Azure Function App
* Microservice Architecture
* Service Bus Queue & Event Grids
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
