Azure Data Engineer

Position Purpose:

To analyze, design, develop, implement, maintain and support Data Delivery systems to meet the company’s needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.Design and develop efficient ETL workflows and data pipelines using SQL Server and stored procedures.

2.Create and optimize stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

3.Implement dimension modeling techniques to design data models that support analytical requirements.

4.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

5.Understanding of the Corporate Data Factory pattern.

6.Understanding of how to orchestrate data workflows and automate data processes.

7.Ensure data quality and consistency through data integration, transformation, and cleansing.

8.Implement and support DevOps practices for Data Engineering to ensure efficient CI/CD pipelines.

9.Leverage languages such as Python, ADF (Azure Data Factory) and stored procedures for data manipulation, automation, and custom data solutions.

10.Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data availability and reliability.

11.An understanding of SSIS and other ETL tools is helpful.

12.An understanding of Azure Data Lake and other Azure services to store, manage, and process large-scale datasets.

13.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

14.Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse teams.

Requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems science, or equivalent experience.

2.Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience extracting and transforming data within Business Intelligence environment.

3.Four (4) + years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Agent jobs, SSIS packages.

4.Four (4) + years of experience with SQL programming objects, including stored procedures, user-defined functions, and common table expressions.

5.Four (4) + years of experience with database tuning and optimization.

6.Four (4) + years of comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.

7.Must have working knowledge of general business, quality/regulatory requirements, and /or manufacturing systems.

8.Must demonstrate proficiency with technical, conceptual, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

9.Must demonstrate ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to problems creatively.

10.Participate in on-call rotation and assist with after-hours issues, as required.
