Job description

We're more than aviation experts, we're pioneers. We challenge what's possible. From breaking the sound barrier to advanced tiltrotor systems. Today, Bell is shaping the future of aviation through specialized engineering. And we want you.

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) and the Bell 360 Invictus Future Attack and Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, Bell's Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor. This position is onsite in Fort Worth however, exceptions for alternate work arrangements may be considered.

Avionics Integration (across multiple seniority levels)

Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop cockpits of the future, through integration of sensors, communication, navigation, and autonomy. Optimizing displays, controls and interfaces for test and evaluation of manned and optionally manned aircraft. You'll work with test pilots and technicians to design and test the next generation of aircraft.  This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. You'll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

What you'll be doing as an Avionics Integration Engineer

Take part in the organization, planning, and management of new aircraft avionics and mission systems within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to meet program and customer defined requirements.

Build, interface, and test multiple computer systems in a modular architecture to meet MOSA, Safety, Security, Environmental, EMI and performance requirements while working in an Agile framework.

Create data interfaces for Ethernet, serial and various avionics bus protocols and support throughout the entire software development life cycle from requirements definition to product deployment.

Manage Avionics suppliers via specifications and statements of work.  Estimate and manage schedules, budgets, and technology to customer standards.

Collaboration with Bell Engineers from other disciplines to include electrical power, flight controls, propulsion, airframe structures, rotors, fuel, hydraulics, and drive systems. Work directly on the aircraft to test and verify that avionics systems meet performance requirements when installed.

Skills You Bring To this Role

Multiple levels will be considered for this position with a minimum of 2 years' Avionics Integration experience required.

Familiarity with ARP4754A for architecture and systems development.

Experience developing and validating requirements.

System development and testing in a systems integration lab.

Aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams in development, integration, validation, and verification of systems.

Experience troubleshooting and resolving system integration/verification issues.

Experience designing system architectures using model-based systems engineering (MBSE).

Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.

What you need to be successful

We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.

A Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required.

Other Engineering degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

We are looking for engineers with experience in one or more of the following avionics disciplines: RF communications, data links, navigation, crew station design, displays, open processing environments, antenna integration, vehicle management systems, or health monitoring systems.

What we offer you in return

You'll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule

80 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO)
