Position Summary:
The Audiovisual Technician II role has the responsibility of being able to act as lead technician in setup and operation of in-house audiovisual equipment and non-print media assets, including audio/lighting equipment for ilani's Meeting & Entertainment Center, as well as ilani house audiovisual in gaming areas, owned bars, restaurants, and retail outlets. This includes operating audio mixers and microphones, video switchers, projectors, and cameras, as well as computers with multi-media presentation software. The Technician II will also hang and focus lighting fixtures, assemble and hang trussing and able to safely operate a scissor lift. This position requires additional training and property specific knowledge, along with completed Q-Sys and Dante certifications. To qualify for a Tech 2 position candidates, need to be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to act solo in all venues on and around the property, and be able to lead a team in the thorough setup of a large-scale AV event.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides superior guest service.
- Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
- Operation of break-out room sets and exhibit floors, servicing end clients and presenters, ensuring smooth meeting flow, and assisting with break-out rooms, re-sets, and strikes.
- Support music productions up to and including operation of audio and/or video consoles,
- Setting up truss, lighting, comms, monitors, image video systems, etc.
- Loading and unloading of trucks, setting up, and striking of equipment.
- Responsible for supporting house audio and video systems throughout the property.
- Lead the setup, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment.
- Receive and respond to incoming requests in a timely manner regarding AV
- Software/hardware problems, questions, and setup support.
- Provide on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of AV hardware/software problems.
- Document instances of AV equipment failure, repair, installation, and removal.
- Troubleshoot AV issues using the appropriate testing tools; make repairs, as necessary.
- This position is responsible for the strict adherence to the Information Technology Department compliance policies, internal control procedures, Washington Gaming Control Board control specifications and the Casino's policies and procedures.
- Act as sole audio, video, and lighting technician in MUZE for a regional act.
- Act as either solo audio, video, or lighting tech in MUZE and/or MEC for national act.
- Setup and operate Teams or Zoom meeting with multiple push-to talk microphones, ptz cameras and participant foldback audio.
- Lead team of technicians in thorough setup of a complex large-scale event.
- Clearly demonstrate technical command of QSC's q-sys system.
- Clearly demonstrate command of Sportsbook video wall technical functions.
- Clearly demonstrate command of media server content delivery systems.
- Lead technical team in a client facing environment with a high level of customer care.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Audio Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience as an AV Technician OR High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD) and five (5) years of progressive Audiovisual experience.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency running audio, video, lighting equipment and consoles.
- Demonstrated proficiency running MUZE acts solo.
- Demonstrated experience acting as technical lead for large scale shows.
- Technical knowledge of multimedia presentation software.
- Technical knowledge of protocols such as DMX, Dante, and general networking skills.
- Hands-on AV equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. safely.
- Self-motivated and directed, keen attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team with positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Requires weekend and shift work including some early mornings and late nights.
- Ability to run an audio console similar to a Yamaha CL5.
- Q-SYS Control and Dante certifications.
- Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
