Automotive Garage Supervisor - Mechanic No Weekends

NET Trans is looking to hire a fulltime Automotive Supervisor to maintain and repair its fleet of passenger vans in addition to supervise 1 fulltime mechanic at its garage in Elizabethton. Garage hours are 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday (8hr shift with 1 hour unpaid for lunch). You will have your evenings, nights & weekends off to pursue other interests. Not a sales job - no selling.

POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation
JOB SUMMARY: The employee in this class is under direct supervision. Responsible for managing the NET Trans preventative maintenance program. Oversee and responsible for day-to-day vehicle preventative maintenance and repairs. Purchase equipment and supplies as needed and maintain stock inventory. Supervise other auto technicians. Make recommendations to upgrade and improve maintenance system. Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures. Develop and implement Warranty Recovery Program. Schedule and approve all maintenance that is performed by other vendors.
Work performed is to assist with mechanical maintenance on FTHRA'S Transportation Program vehicles with special emphasis on preventative maintenance. Other work performed as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

1. High school degree or GED and automotive training from trade school or other specialized institution. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
3. 5+ years automotive experience as a mechanic required.
4. 2+ years supervisory experience.
5. ASE certifications.
6. Position requires frequent bending and lifting. Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs, frequently lift 60-65 lbs. Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
7. Strong computer, administrative and organizational skills.
8. Must have basic automotive tools.
9. Position is safety sensitive and subject to FTA DOT Drug & Alcohol testing and policies.
10. Position contingent upon grant funding.
