Job Description
Key Tasks / Responsibilities:
Teach and operate Fanuc robots for Prototype builds. Operate robots in teach mode if necessary, for prototype production and commissioning builds.
Integrate and commission EOAT onto robots, such as SPR guns, FDS Guns
Perform robot debug and commission activities on shop floor
Carries out engineering solutions and designs in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and project specifications.
Work closely with external equipment integrators and internally with Product Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and Maintenance
Addresses potential problems and carries out appropriate actions individually or proposes solutions to the project engineer depending on the severity of the problem.
Comply with and enforce all company and customer safety policies.
Debug and optimize robot programs to maximize cycle time, improve availability and yield
Requirements / Qualifications
Engineering Technology Diploma Or BS/MS Electrical Engineering (Preferred) (or equivalent Majors in Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, etc.)
5+ years of experience as a handson Controls Engineer or Robotics Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systems
Proficiency with process integration and electromechanical / mechatronic systems
Indepth knowledge of Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA).
Must Have advanced proficiency in programming Fanuc Robots and familiar with others (ie: Kuka, Yaskawa)
Experience programming Cartesian, SCARA and Articulated robots are highly desired (Fanuc, Kuka, Motoman, Epson)
Experience transitioning products and processes from prototype to production desired
Knowledge of production quality metrics is a plus
Ability to use 3D CAD packages such as with SolidWorks and CATIA is a plus
