Automation Specialist Intern
Location: Atlanta, GA, Indianapolis, IN or Mason, OH
This is a hybrid position, with preference for the candidate to be located within 50 mi of an Elevance Health office.
The Automation Specialist Intern will be responsible for supporting Elevance Health's Chief Experience Office in driving our automation efforts. Our interns are given the opportunity to provide solutions to current business challenges under the guidance of industry professionals and mentors. After completing orientation, interns will stretch their skills and enrich their knowledge base to achieve a greater understanding of the integration of automation technology into the healthcare industry.
How you will make an impact:
  • Collaborate across business units and functional teams to identify automation opportunities and propose solutions
  • Build automation solutions to simplify processes, drive efficiencies, and improve data integrity
  • Develop protocol/metrics to measure effectiveness of automations

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12-week internship (May 20 - August9) from our Mason, OH office
  • Actively pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics or other related field at an accredited university during internship
  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Development experience in building automation using RPA tools UiPath & Microsoft Power Automate; certifications preferred
  • Ability to understand the current state of a business process from a workflow diagram, and conceptualize future state of that workflow in an automated solution
  • Familiarity with emerging topics in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, conversational bots, and knowledge representation and reasoning
  • Knowledge of text analytics and natural language processing, sequence labeling, machine learning, probabilistic and statistical learning methods
  • Proficiencies in one or more of the following preferred: Python, R, Java, C/C++, C#, Angular, HTML, Tableau/Snowflake, SAS SQL Databases, querying languages
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
  • Comfortable learning quickly in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
