Job Description
Prime Response Inc. (PRI), is seeking a full-time Auto Mechanic to provide logistics base supply support at NASA in Langley, VA for a possible upcoming, long-term government contract.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Operate a government-provided Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) to perform “in-house” maintenance and repair of transportation assets in accordance with the NASA Fleet Management Handbook and Center procedures, as applicable.
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance and repair activities with customers
- SCA: 05190 MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Ability to work on a variety of equipment, from passenger sedans to diesel tractors and cargo trucks
- Ability to execute and track OEM maintenance plans
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in a military/government/other highly-regulated work environment.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to multitask along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
