Senior / Supervisor - Audit

We are looking to hire an Experienced Audit Senior to join our Sacramento governmental and nonprofit audit practice. This position will require commitment and passion to perform engagement field work under the Engagement Managers and Partners.
Job Description
- Responsible for leading client engagements and assigned staff through the planning, fieldwork, and completion stages of the audit
- Takes responsibility for engagement administration, to include coordinating the planning process and engagement completion
- Desire and ability to maintain positive client relationships
- Collect and analyze data
- Identify and research accounting issues when they arise
- Contributes to the firm’s overall growth by actively participating in administrative and operational functions
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of recent and relevant public accounting audit experience of nonprofit and governmental entities
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Must be a CPA or CPA exam candidate
- Intermediate knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
- Ability to travel to client locations which may include occasional overnight stays
- Experience with planning audits and preparing financials for governmental and nonprofit clients
- Ability to work collectively with clients, managers and co-workers
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities
- Initiative to learn new areas beyond scope of work
- Proficient in the use of accounting, spreadsheet, word processing, and database computer software
- Experience with 990’s a plus
Skills and Abilities
- Commitment to meet client deadlines and adhere to work plan schedules on each assignment
- Able to discuss moderately complex technical issues with client and engagement team
- Identifies and researches more complex technical issues and proposes solution
- Demonstrates strong supervisory skills, including ability to review work by staff
- Ability to maintain client and firm confidentiality
- Meets time estimates and budgets for assigned tasks
- Regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the state society are followed and maintained
- Recognizes and takes advantage of practice development opportunities through extension of services to clients
- Maintains regular communication with clients
- Regularly keeps Manager/Partner updated on status on all engagements
