Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for anAttorney Development CLE Specialist in theProfessional Development Department open to various office locations.We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

Position Summary:

The Attorney Development CLE Specialist is an integral member of our Attorney Development team. Reporting to the Attorney Development CLE Manager responsible for firmwide CLE administration, this position will be a firmwide resource and will coordinate all aspects of the Greenberg Traurig CLE processing.

The Attorney Development CLE Specialist will manage and oversee the process for issuing CLE credit for firm programs and maintaining accreditation in states where GT is an accredited provider. This will include serving as a CLE expert and resource, ensuring all programs comply with CLE regulations, enhancing workflows and improving CLE processes and support the department in successfully executing its overall strategy.

This position can be based in our Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis, Northern Virginia, Orlando, Philadelphia, Tampa, or Washington, D.C. office with a hybrid of remote and in-office work as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a CLE expert and resource for CLE accreditation requirements and ensures that all programs comply with CLE regulations in jurisdictions where GT holds offices
  • Reviews all course materials for CLE compliance and provides oversight for the CLE team to apply for and award CLE credit
  • Enhances CLE workflow as necessary and suggest ways to improve CLE processes
  • Liaises with state CLE Boards and serves as main point of contact for questions or clarifications needed
  • Prepares and submits year-end CLE reports, accredited provider renewal applications, and other mandatory CLE reports to ensure the firm's accredited provider status in key jurisdictions
  • Updates and maintains the CLE Intranet pages
  • Monitors CLE sites for rule changes and interprets, advises, and communicates how changes affect the firm and its processes
  • Monitors CLE activity for relevant jurisdictions and advise attorneys accordingly
  • Consults attorneys who have missed a CLE deadline to ensure post-compliance period courses are properly recorded
  • Answers day-to-day questions from attorneys, practice group administrators, marketing, and other staff regarding CLE rules and individual CLE compliance
  • Collaborates with Directors and Managers in the development of programming for CLE eligibility
  • Assesses rules of jurisdictions in which we are not accredited
  • Educates attorneys and staff regarding requirements such as invitations containing CLE language, credits, written materials, and accreditation standards
  • Educates attorneys and staff regarding state-specific CLE requirements for lawyers
  • Corresponds with CLE software vendors to ensure software tools meet the needs of the CLE team and to guide technology upgrades
  • Provides enhancements to current systems to efficiently monitor CLE programming and CLE processing metrics
  • Oversees the CLE processing work of CLE Coordinators and CLE Assistant

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university required
  • A minimum of 5 years of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) or attorney professional development experience required. Significant experience in a large law firm is also preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret CLE regulations
  • Experience using CE Manager or viMCLE system
  • Strong computer skills, web applications, and database experience required
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, adult learning techniques and online learning technologies a plus
  • Database administration a plus
